Lions Den Spring /Summer Newsletter - Field Trips,Camps,Seminars,Tournaments,Promotions

Welcome to our Spring/Summer newsletter!!! We will give you a quick recap of what went on here at the Den over the last 3 months since our last newsletter and also what we have coming up over the next 3 months. We have been busy and we don't plan on letting our foot off the gas anytime soon. Pictured right are our adults who were recently promoted in our BJJ Program last month! We also had about 25 kids ( pic below) who were promoted and this was a big one. This promotion took place at our affiliate school in Glens Falls ( Matt Secor BJJ ) for adults and here at the Den for the kids . What a fun time

Jumping around a bit but in January we competed in BJJ at the Naga tournament held at the Albany Armory. We had a bunch of adults competing as well as a ton of kids and teens. We came home again with the 1'st place team trophy for the kids and teens Division and finished 3rd for Adults. Fun Fact , Professor Svingala's kids/teens team has come in 1'st place in the Albany NAGA in every tournament they have entered going back over 10 years now!!!! Below is a photo and a blast from the Past where we took home another 1'st place trophy brining only 11 kids to this event. They kicked some major butt. Anyone recognize any of these kids?

In February we had 3 MMA fighters all compete and win at Cage Wars which was held at the Rivers Casino in Schenectady. This was an awesome time and we had over 150 Members and friends at this event. Everyone had a blast and the fighters did a great job in not only winning but representing our Academy in a Professional manner. Thanks Guys!

Last Month we also had one of our first students/ MMA Fighters back in action in the UFC. Mike Davis came away with another win making this 3 in a row. He won by submission!! Mike now resides in Florida but comes back to us once a year and teaches here at the Den. We are planning on having Mike back here in October for 2 days.

Pictured below are Professors Secor and Trent Svingala at the EFC Law Enforcement Instructors training program held last month at the NYS police Academy. Professor Secor instructs these programs all over the country for Law enforcement and Professor Svingala graduated this session making him an EFC ceritfied Instructor along with being a NYS Trooper. This is a great addition to what we offer here at the Den as we now offer seminars for Law Enforcement in what is recognized as one of the top training systems for law enforcement. Also good luck to Professor Caleb Svingala whom is currently in the NYS Police training academy.

2 Weeks ago we had an awesome Seminar here at the Den with Fabio Coelho!!! Fabio is one of the top instructors down at the Main Renzo Gracie Academy in NYC. We have their Instructors in a couple of times a year and also travel to their location for field trips once a year. Fabio showed some great techniques that we are already seeing our students implement on the mat. THANKS FAB !! Pics from each seminar below
