LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING
We at the Lions Den and our affiliate school Matt Secor BJJ are the ONLY schools here in the capital district which have instructors certified to teach Defensive Tactics by a program accredited and approved by the Department of Justice ( EFC ) . This program is only available to law enforcement officers.

We have 2 instructors on staff whom are current Law Enforcement Officers for the NYS Police. Both have completed the NYS Police Academy and one has also completed the Zone 5 Police Academy while receiving the class award for Excellence in Arrest Techniques. One is also a K9 Handler for the State Police, graduating from that training program as well.

Our Instructors are not only Black Belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but are proficient and have the knowledge to teach our techniques so they can be properly applied in LEO situations. This is highly important as not everything taught in the art can or should be used in these situations. Example : In a normal Jiu Jitsu class taught by an untrained professional , do they worry about the opponent grabbing your gun? ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES

We currently have 3 whole departments in our programs along with dozens of officers from the DOC , Sheriff's dept and NYS Police .
DEPARTMENT MEMBERSHIPS
We offer highly discounted rates for whole department memberships . In these memberships , all department employee's have full access to all classes that take place here at the Den. They also get access to 3 special Law Enforcement Seminars each year ( every 4 months ) . These seminars are for LEO officers only and cover a variety of LEO based situations. Memberships are priced and are good for 1 full year.

Oh yeah , did we mention all of our members also get full access to our affiliate school " Matt Secor BJJ " ? They are located about an hour north of us for officers who might reside closer to them. Matt himself is also an LEO officer himself and an EFC certified instructor.

Our owner Tom Svingala has 2 sons in the NYS Police , another whom is a Senior Airmen in the Airforce whom serves in Security Forces and in the CRG ( Contingency response group ). Along with a large family of uncles and cousins in LEO. We understand the toll of the long and stressful shifts takes on a family.

This Blue Line Promise offers a FREE Membership to each person in the officers immediate family a FREE membership at the Den.

Having an activity that can take your mind completely away from the job can be beneficial in many ways and in our program , our officers can attend classes alongside their spouses and children. We also have numerous events throughout the year such as our Halloween /Christmas Parties and Belt promotions which are totally free and great events for the family.
