Lets start with whats been going on here at the Den. Aside from all of our awesome classses and fun that we have been having with our instrcutors and student base, we have had quite a few special events going on here since February. In March we kicked the first one off with a special seminar from one of Professor Svingala's first students , UFC Star Mike Davis. Mike was in for the weekend and put on seminars in Youth Jiu Jitsu , Muay Thai , Adult Jiu Jitsu and MMA. If you arent familiar with what a seminar is , it'sbasically a special class put on by a guest instructor for the day. The Den is one of the few schools that do this and we bring in some pretty big stars in the martial arts world. Our seminars however are much different than the rest, as we limit our numbers for enrtrance so each person gets plenty of time to work with these stars. Along with teaching the seminars, Mike got right in there and did live rolling with all the kids and some of the adults. In Muay Thai he also did some sparring with each student. Mike finished up by taking pics with all the participants and we had lots of his UFC trading cards here that Mike signed and we handed out for free. This was a blast!Some pics below ....

Next up we had a specail delivery in April as Professor Caleb welcomed his Son ( Callum ) into the world and we are already seeing him a bunch inside the Den. Congratualtions Caleb and Kayleigh !! Next up in April Professor Svingala and Mandy traveled to Montreal to catch up with UFC Legend George St Pierre while the UFC put on a great show that weekend. George signed a picture we had from 15 years ago to put on display here at the Den.

In May some of our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students competed in our 2nd tournament of the year. Our kids and Teens took home the team award for the 12'th straight time at the Albany NAGA event which is the largest BJJ tournament held in our area twice a year. We also had a good group of adult students competing in this one and it was fun to watch them all in action. Congrat's to all who competed and a big thank you to our coaches for being there for them.

In June we have already had 2 great events so far. The first was a seminar put on by 9 time UFC Champion and Hall of famer Matt Hughes! Matt put on seminars in Striking for MMA, MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The participants all had a blast working with Matt and I cannot tell you how much they pick up in these small group seminars with Personalized instruction by the best in the world. He posed for photo's with each participant after and signed lots of autographs. He left us with a cool plaque personalized to the Den including a signed cast of his fist. Pretty cool. If you havent been coming to them , get in there. Your missing out!

Last weekend we had our latest belt promotion for our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students. We do these 3 times per year and they are always a blast. This time saw 15 of our BJJ students recieving new belts including coach Terry moving up to Brown Belt. Below are some pics from the event . Our next one is scheduled for September 24'th , mark your calandars! That is a Wednesday at 6pm.

7/19 - Our student Woody Clement takes the cage at the next Cage Wars MMA event. We will have tickets here for sale on 7/1 .

9/24 - Our next BJJ Belt promotion. This looks to be a big one and we are anticipationg about 30 members who could be up for promotion this go around.

10/25 - Annual Halloween Party - One of our funnest events of the year. The Den is fully decked out for the month of October. This event is open to all members. Each member gets a large pumpkin to carve for our contest. We also have a costume contest , pinata , give aways and plenty of food and music.

11/15 - UFC Stars Erin Blanchfield and Fatima Kline will be here putting on seminars in Muay Thai , BJJ and MMA. You wont want to miss this one!! Get signed up as spots are limited to 30.
